Hornet is captured by outsider bugs and brought to their kingdom, Pharloom, but she escapes her cage before arriving at their destination. She wields a Needle and thread with deadly prowess. Hornet is the mysterious princess-protector of Hallownest’s ruins, a major character in Hollow Knight and the playable protagonist of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Beating him grants the Rivalry achievement. He is quite inept in combat and regularly messes up his jumps. He simply has to be attacked until the fight is over. As a boss, he deals no damage due to his nail being made of shellwood. Upon listening to him within Ancient Basin after buying a map for that area, he states that he doesn't want to worry his wife, Iselda, and should head back up to the shop soon after a short rest. The only location where he does not hum is in Deepnest, where he is visibly afraid for his life and does not want to give his location away to the beasts. Scattered papers on the ground lead to his location and his humming can be heard from a few rooms across. Her shop is unlocked when Cornifer has been listened to or when the False Knight has been defeated or skipped by leaving the battle.Ĭornifer can be found in every zone he sells a map for. In-game eventsĬornifer is first encountered in the bottom of the Forgotten Crossroads where he sells Maps and advises the Knight to visit his wife Iselda's shop up in Dirtmouth. He later moved to Dirtmouth with Iselda as soon as he could. While he claims to be the strongest warrior in the land, he is found trapped by weak enemies or claiming the glory of another bug's deeds. Unfortunately, because it is made of shellwood, it cannot deal damage. He named his nail "Life Ender" because names supposedly have power. This is ultimately revealed to be a promise of glory for himself. Zote is a traveller from outside Hallownest who came to the Kingdom to fulfill a promise.
